Our client has been delivering high quality M&E Design and Build solutions for over 30 years, providing a national service to well known industry names throughout the retail and commercial sectors amongst others. Employing circa 100 staff across design, operations, commercial management and maintenance, the team works closely to ensure projects are designed, accurately costed and delivered on time which ensures regular repeat business and provides a strong trading base for longevity and success.
Preconstruction services grow year on year, and whilst external consultants are used during busy periods, the business attempts to keep as much design work inhouse as possible. To continue this trend additional HVAC design resource will be required and the company is keen to attract two Engineers to join the team:
- Lead Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer
- Intermediate Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer
The Lead Mechanical Engineer role will work closely with the former owner, now retained as a part time “consultant” after a management buy out a few years ago, providing preconstruction design related support for new projects. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a highly successful former business owner, who is extremely well connected across the wider construction industry and held in the highest regard both internally and externally. With retirement on the horizon, the Lead Engineer is perfectly placed to inherit key relationships and duties, moving into a senior position to lead the division permanently.
The ideal Engineer will be a seasoned HVAC Design Engineer with significant time spent in an MEP Contracting or Consulting environment, capable of providing an engaging client facing service that is both commercially astute and flexible. Understanding how buildings work, the likely costs associated with changes and upgrades, whilst also knowledgeable on important subjects such energy usage is absolutely key to provide a reliable “one stop shop” of advice.
