Due to continued growth and success, the client is looking for an experienced Building Physics & Sustainability Engineer to join their team, who will be working as part of the MEP Division.
Location: Manchester (City Centre)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience and skills

Purpose of the Role:
This role involves participation and interaction with a larger project team to develop simulations within project constraints. This role is not just an addition to the team of design engineers, but really an integral part of the team that stimulates the development and offers guidance on when modelling is required, the extent of modelling required, sensible approaches to issues, etc. This position specialises in the use of Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) and Virtual Environmental (VE) modelling software. The role involves carrying out domestic and non-domestic modelling for:
- UK Building Regulations energy assessments (Part L, Section 6)
- Operational energy assessments (CIBSE TM54)
- Overheating assessments (Part O, CIBSE TM52, CIBSE TM59)
- Natural ventilation modelling
- Daylight modelling
- BREEAM modelling
- NABERS modelling

Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree qualified – mechanical or building physics.
- Knowledge of British and European Standards, Building Regulations documents etc.
- Proven experience within a similar role, ideally 2 or more years.
- Professional Membership (CIBSE, IET, IMechE) preferred.
- Low Carbon Energy Assessor is advantageous.
- A strong desire to communicate and work collaboratively with others.
- Confident in ability to handle new or unfamiliar technical issues, and independently generate and develop ideas.
- Understanding of Low-energy and passive design.
- Building Regulations Part L assessments.
- Self-motivated and capable of working well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail.
